چکیده

K h e ABSTRACT: The occurrence of graft rejection episodes after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) despite the use of immunosuppressive drugs designed to suppress T lymphocyte functions, indicates the involvement of other types of cells in this process. The activity of natural killer cells and their killer immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIR) is regulated by human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I determinants; C and Bw epitopes. Because recipient/donor pairs are usually HLA mismatched, recipient natural killer alloreactivity may be the mediating factor in rejection. In this retrospective study, we have analyzed rejection occurrence and outcome in 66 OLT recipients, 42 with and 24 without C or Bw epitope disparity in the rejection direction. Recipients transplanted from donors with no C epitope disparity had significantly fewer rejection episodes in the first year after transplantation compared with recipients transplanted across C epitope dis-

In silico identification of epitopes from house cat and dog proteins as peptide immunotherapy candidates based on human leukocyte antigen binding affinity

The objective of this descriptive study was to determine Felis domesticus (cat) and Canis familiaris (dog) protein epitopes that bind strongly to selected HLA class II alleles to identify synthetic vaccine candidate epitopes and to identify individuals/populations who are likely to respond to vaccines. FASTA amino acid sequences of experimentally validated allergenic proteins of house cat and d...

In silico design a multivalent epitope vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 for Iranian populations

Background: Due to high genetic variation in human leukocyte antigen )HLA( alleles, epitope-based vaccines don’t show equal efficacy in different human populations. therefore, we proposed a multi-epitope vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 for Iranian populations. Materials and Methods: For this purpose, the proteins without allergenicity and high antigenicity as well as conservancy level from SARS-CoV...

Identification of Mycobacterium tuberculosis CTL Epitopes Restricted by HLA-A*0201 in HHD Mice

CD8+ T cells are thought to play an important role in protective immunity to tuberculosis. The major histocompatibility complex class I subtype HLA-A*0201 is one of the most prevalent class I alleles, with a frequency of over 30% in most populations. HLA-A*0201 transgenic, H-2Db/mouse beta2-microglobulin double-knockout mice (HHD) which express human HLA-A*0201 but no mouse class I, was shown t...

The Effect of Christ’s Thorn (Ziziphus Spina Christi) Leaves Extract on Lipid Profile, Lipid Peroxidation and Liver Enzymes of Diabetic Rats

Objective: The effect of herbal medicine is more useful than synthetic medicines. The present research paper aims to show the effects of leaves extracts of Zizyphus Spina Christi (ZSC) on lipid profile, lipid peroxidation and activities of aminotransferase enzymes in streptozocin induced diabetic adult male rats. Materials and Methods: Fifty six male rats weighing 150-200 gm were included in t...

Molecular Identification of Pre-Existing Immunityin Human against H9N2 Influenza Viruses Using HLA-A*0201 Binding Peptides

Background and Aims: The contribution genetic and antigenic diversity of H9N2 influenza viruses in evading from immune responses, cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) epitopes in hemagglutinin (HA) protein restricted by HLA binding peptides was identified. Materials and Methods: Phylogenetic analyses were carried out for all of full length HA and deduced amino acid sequences of H9N2 viruses available ...
